Battery and power

The T1-S VTOL flies on a 4S pack. A hover uses much more power than forward flight, because the three rotors carry the whole weight. In forward flight the wing carries the weight, and only the two wing motors turn at a low speed. The BATTERY line on the SYSTEMS screen shows the voltage and the current of the pack.

A hover draws 15 to 25 A

If the vehicle is armed and the plane is on the ground, press VTOL TKOF. The plane climbs straight up to the plan altitude. The plane stays at one place in the air, and the speed in the PFD is near 0. The battery current is at least 15 A. The battery current is at most 25 A.

The load pulls the voltage down

A full 4S high-voltage pack reads 17.4 V with no load. A hover draws a large current, so the voltage drops below that. It stays above 14 V, which is 3.5 V for each cell.

If the vehicle is armed and the plane is on the ground, press VTOL TKOF. The plane climbs straight up to the plan altitude. The battery voltage is at most 17 V. The battery voltage is at least 14 V.

Cruise draws 3 to 7 A

If the flight is hovering, press CRUISE. The wing motors tilt forward and the plane speeds up. The speed in the PFD is above 11 m/s, and the plane flies forward. The battery current is at least 3 A. The battery current is at most 7 A.
