Other aircraft
The station shows the other aircraft near your plane on the tactical map. It does not see them itself. The station only gets the telemetry that the TX15 radio passes on. Your plane tells the station about the other aircraft that it can hear.
There are two sources. Your plane has a Remote ID receiver. It hears the aircraft that broadcast Remote ID, and only the aircraft that are near. Your plane is also on a MAVLink network with other pilots. Each plane on the network shares its position, and the network has a longer range. The station joins what it hears into one marker for each aircraft.

Topics
- Remote ID
- A plane that sends Remote ID tells every receiver near it who it is and where it is. The receiver is on your plane, not at the station. The range is the range from your plane to the other plane: about a kilometre at best. The station gets the broadcast down the radio link, a few seconds later.
- MAVLink network
- Pilots who share a MAVLink network see each other's planes. Each plane sends its position a few times a second. The network has a longer range than Remote ID.
- Old information
- The station does not hide a plane that goes quiet. The marker stays where the plane was last heard, and it goes dim. After a minute the marker goes away.
- Crowds
- The radio link is narrow. Every message about another plane uses a part of it. Your own plane comes first, so a crowd of planes never stops your telemetry.
