Test report

Flying near a crowd of planes › Out of range, into range, into a crowd passed

As a pilot with a TX15, I want to see the planes that are in range, and no more, so that I trust the map, and my telemetry stays good.

The test behind the tutorial Flying near a crowd of planes: every step it takes, what it checks and what it saw.

Start

From the setup of Other aircraft.

Everything it starts with
Given the other plane is silent
And the distance to the other plane is 200 m
And the map has 0 other planes
And the TX15 link is up
And your Remote ID is on
And the crowd has 0 planes
Screenshot
  • Every arranged state read back as arranged (6)

1 When the other plane is sending Remote ID and the distance to the other plane is 2000 m and 5 seconds pass

When the other plane is sending Remote ID
And the distance to the other plane is 2000 m
  And 5 seconds pass
Then the map has 0 other planes

Expected behaviour: Remote ID does not reach far.

2 When the other plane is sending MAVLink and the distance to the other plane is 7000 m and 5 seconds pass

When the other plane is sending MAVLink
And the distance to the other plane is 7000 m
  And 5 seconds pass
Then the map has 0 other planes

Expected behaviour: The MAVLink network has a limit too.

3 When the distance to the other plane is 1500 m and 5 seconds pass

When the distance to the other plane is 1500 m
  And 5 seconds pass
Then the map has 1 other plane
And the source of the marker is MAVLink

Expected behaviour: A plane on the MAVLink network gets a marker.

4 When the crowd has 30 planes and 10 seconds pass

When the crowd has 30 planes
  And 10 seconds pass
Then the telemetry of your plane has at least 4 position updates per second

Expected behaviour: A crowd does not crowd out your plane.
